|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every day that begins at 1:00 am, repeating until February 1, 2020
All week we are celebrating 100 years of the Great Ocean Road with an exclusive pop-up cinema event.
19 September 2019 marked 100 years from the day construction commenced on the Great Ocean Road. We are celebrating with a historical documentary screenings and pop-up cinemas.
The centrepiece of the event series is a documentary titled ‘The Story of the Road’, which will show how the road came to be – detailing its construction by World War I returned servicemen and their lives as they built the now 243 kilometre road, joining the isolated towns lining the western Victorian coastline.
This documentary tells the story of the Great Ocean Road; the building of the road, the history and the impact it had on the surrounding region.
Each day your gold coin donation entry will go to supporting a different local charity. Family and pet friendly event (pets on a leash please).
